01
The problem
Hosts listed on online travel agencies paid 18 to 25% on every booking and never saw the guest's contact details. The relationship belonged to the aggregator.
Availability lived in several calendars at once, so double bookings were routine and confirmations were typed by hand.
02
The approach
Build a direct booking engine hosts control: synced inventory, online payment, and instant WhatsApp confirmation to guest and host.
Give hosts one dashboard for rooms, rates, availability and guests, so the marketplace works for them rather than around them.
03
Technology
- React
- Node.js
- Razorpay
- Redis
- WhatsApp API
React front end on a Node.js API. Razorpay handles payment, and bookings are confirmed by webhook rather than by trusting the client. Redis holds availability locks so two guests cannot book the same night. The WhatsApp Business API sends confirmations to both sides.
04
The solution
Guests search, pick dates, pay and receive a WhatsApp confirmation. Hosts manage rooms, rates and availability from one dashboard and see every guest's details.
Inventory stays in sync between the marketplace and each host's calendar, so a night booked anywhere is booked everywhere.
05
The outcome
Zero-commission direct bookings
Zero-commission direct bookings, with the guest relationship owned by the host.
